Air Wisconsin traffic dips in October

Air Wisconsin Airlines Corp., which flies as US Airways Express, reported 186 million revenue passenger miles in October, a decrease of 2.3 percent from 190.3 million in October 2005.
A revenue passenger mile represents each mile flown by a paying passenger.
The airline's capacity, measured in available seat miles, increased 2.1 percent to 266.4 million from 260.9 million.
The Appleton-based airline reported a load factor -- or percentage of seats filled by paying passengers -- of 69.8 percent, compared with 72.9 percent a year earlier. The passengers enplaned for October totaled 484,183, a decline of 4.8 percent from 508,849 a year ago.
Air Wisconsin is a regional carrier operating as US Airways Express. It had flown as United Express, the regional air service of United Airlines, during 2005. Air Wisconsin schedules nearly 500 departures per day to 69 cities in 26 states and two Canadian provinces.
