Tennis star Aisamul Haq has become the first from Pakistan to reach the semi-finals of any grand slam event.

Aisam reserved a berth in the mixed doubles semis of the US Open along with his partner Kveta Peschke of the Czech Republic, Geo News reports.

Pak-Czech pair had a face-off against Gisela Dulko of Argentina and Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay.

The South American pair swept the first set 6-3, but thereafter, the Pak-Czech pair put in a commanding performance to nail the next two sets 6-2 and 1-0.

The Pakistani tennis star and his Indian partner Rohan Bopanna will today face number nine seeds Wesley Moodey of South Africa and Dick Norman of Belgium in the doubles of the same tournament. (ANI)
